Organizing with Bags

Welcome! New to ABC and 123?
Please check out our FAQ in the left sidebar.

In conjunction with this week's Picnic Table Talk about ORGANIZING we are offering you a chance to win a fabulous Kidlet Bag from Two Little Monkeys.

The Kidlet is 11 1/2 x 11 1/2 and includes an outside pocket. As you can see Missy uses adorable fabric combinations in putting together these useful bags. The Kidlet is lined, well stitched, and easy to wash.

Here are some suggestions from Missy on Kidlet storage solutions:

~Hang it on door knobs, hooks in closets, playrooms, bathrooms, or even hang in the car
~It's big enough to hold books, art supplies, toys, lovies, dvds, puzzles, and more

I was lucky enough to win this sweet Kidlet from Two Little Monkeys a few months ago. In addition to Missy's suggestions above, our family has found many other organizational uses for our bag:

~Hang the Kidlet in the bathroom to collect girly little hair goodies (which you will also find in Two Little Monkey's shop!)
~Hang by the coat hooks to collect important papers from backpacks
~Hang by the front door as a reminder of the mail that needs to go out on the next trip
~Hang on the kid's bedroom door with all the little trinkets found around the house that need to be put away
~Keep the car keys and garage door opener in a safe place where they are always easily accessible.
~Teach your child responsibility & organizing skills using some of the above suggestions with the Kidlet

Here are 2 educational activities that would work well with a Kidlet:

~Letter of the day - Write each letter of the alphabet on a 3x5 card. Each day put one card in the front pocket of the Kidlet. Work with your child to fill the inside of the bag with anything you find in and around your house that begins with the featured letter.

~Counting - Write the numbers 1-20 on 3x5 cards. Choose 1 number to place in the front pocket. Ask your child to find that number of objects to place in the Kidlet.

~Adapt this activity to also practice color words!

Are you imagining all the places in your home where you would find a Kidlet to be the organizing solution?? I thought so! Would you love to have one of your own?

  2. I love the polka gingham initial bow. So cute! I also like the idea of the kidlet tote. I could use about 10 for my car and house! Anything to corral the STUFF!

  3. In the winter time I keep socks by the garage door. It seems I am always running upstairs to get socks (my girls love to take them off the minute I'm not looking!) We are usually late and the last thing I want to do is run around rounding up matching socks! This would be a great item to hang on the door with extra socks I would also stash an extra hairbrush in the outside pocket for those last minute hair brushing as we run out the door.

  6. A suggestion for use is Library books, we have a small tote we keep our in, and it just helps so that they aren't mixed with "our" books & we hang it on Lu's door, so each night she can grab a diff book from the bag!

  15. Honestly, I'd probably want to use the kidlet as my *to-go* diaper bag, but if I was nice and gave it to my daughter I'd keep it stocked so we could go outside and play w. some of her favorite items. A baggie of sidewalk chalk for learning letters and numbers, her jump rope (we use it for counting and exercise!) and then add some bubbles and sunscreen for fun in the sun!
