Cotton Top Quilt Review & Giveaway
Welcome! New to ABC and 123?
Please check out our FAQ in the left sidebar.
As many of you noticed upon entering this week's giveaway, our sponsor's shop is currently empty. Due to unforeseen circumstances we are afraid that we will not be able to follow through on this particular giveaway as planned. We apologize! We have posted a new review/giveaway for eebee's adventure's dvds in place of this for this week.
We’ve had all summer to test and enjoy reusable snack pouches and sandwich wraps at the lunchtime concerts in the park, the beach, our camping trip, Vacation Bible School, Lego Camp, and more!
Using reusable packaging is a great way to teach your child about:
~Making good choices on nutritious snacks
~The economics of packing your own snacks/lunch
~ Reusing/reducing trash
Teacher Suggested Snacks for Back to School!
This list is courtesy of 2nd Grade teacher Mrs. H.
~Fruits and vegetables are the best, but often costly for some families
~Crackers & cheese, pretzels, graham crackers, and popcorn are acceptable choices.
~Lots of students bring granola bars or trail mix.
~Kids bring yogurt and jello too
~Some children enjoy dry cereal
~Fruit roll up & Fruit snacks are discouraged
~Water is encouraged :)
This 2nd list is from Kindergarten teacher Mrs. M.
~Nothing with peanuts, it is just easier to say that due to the large peanut allergies.
~Yogurt tubes are great
~Fruit already cut up is helpful
~Dried fruit & raisins are popular
~Crackers, pretzels, cheese sticks, veggie and dip
~Cut bread and jelly sandwiches
~Oat based cereals to eat dry
~Trail mix blends
~Finger foods are best
~100% juice or milk

ReplyDeleteReusable snack pouches and wraps are important to me as I am teaching my daughter the importance of recycling, reusing and whatnot. We currently use a Ziplock bag over and over, and have a sandwich holder, and I'll even reuse foil! But having something so cute would be much prettier for when she goes to school!
ReplyDeleteI don't see anything for sale on the site right now, but I have been looking for a sandwich wrap for a while so that is definitely something I would love to choose! I think the apple fabric in your photograph is very cute.

ReplyDeletereusable snack pouches and wraps are important because I'm a huge fan of keeping plastic bags out of landfills. They are also very cute, which is a nice bonus :)

ReplyDeleteSince the esty shop is closed right now, I like the apple fabric on your site
ReplyDeleteResuseable snack pouches would be great for us. With so many kids, it is much more cost efficient to be able to reuse, than to always be throwing plastic bags and such in the garbage.
ReplyDeleteThe snack pouches you features are adorable and just right for my snack loving son.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't see the fabrics, because the shop is closed but thanks for a great giveaway!

I follow ABC and 123 :) always great ideas for myself and my family.
ReplyDeleteI would like my family to use cloth snack bags & pouches because it's important to "walk your talk" - meaning we already recycle and use cloth diapers. I think taking it one step further is important. If I can show my kids how easy/cost effective it is from the beginning, hopefully they will always live this way.
ReplyDeleteI too checked out her site but there are no listings and no fabric choices :( I however would love ot see my Lu take a resuable snack pouch to school, and she would love to take one too, she loves to carry her snacks in special bags, pouches, purses ect ect..

ReplyDeleteI like the Reusable Snack Pouch and the farmers market fabric
ReplyDeleteI think reusable snack pouches and wraps are important because they keep you from wasting rapping materials for your lunch.
ReplyDeleteI would love the snack pouches, they would be great for school lunches, and it so much greener especially when I will be packing one everyday. Saves a lot of trash!
ReplyDeleteI follow!!
ReplyDeleteI love the apples, you have on here. There aren't any on her site! So cute!
ReplyDeleteI didn't see any fabric choices today, but I love the apple one you featured!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win a bag to use for lunch time. I recently learned that the sandwich baggies we all use everyday DON'T EVER biodegrade. They only photodegrade. Another reason to keep them out of the landfills!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I am a ziplock junkie...I know this is NOT GOOD, so I need this adorable little bag to STOP the INSANITY!! :D
ReplyDeleteI've had a button/link to you for sometime now and love "popping in" for all of your great ideas!!
