Happy Labor Day!

Labor Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the first Monday in September. The first Labor Day in the United States was celebrated on September 5, 1882 in New York City.

The schedule for the celebration of Labor Day was to include a parade exhibiting to the public the strength and spirit of the trade and labor organizations. The street parades were typically followered by a festival forworkers and their families.

Labor day unofficial marks the end of summer and the beginning of a new school year.

Speaking of labor...perhaps you missed our round up of chore charts last week, but if you would like to get your children and students involved in helping around the home or classroom you will want to check out the clever ideas that were shared.

Enjoy your holiday.
