I hope you are also finding fun inspiration!

Fowl Single File put together some great felt bean bags, perfect for practicing computation or just having fun!

How cute would it be to kick off the summer camping season with this clever cake idea from The Amazing Mess? Our family is the camping type, so I just love this idea!

Show and Tell

abc button

Welcome to Show and Tell Tuesday. Thank you all for your wonderful response to our first week and for your participation. What fun to see all that you are busy doing, learning, and teaching! As previously mentioned, we've chosen three of your links to highlight today.

At Monkeyin' Around, they had some Sunday Science fun with an experiment. Using a few ingredients they made an "elephant toothpaste" reaction.

Mama Smiles shared a felt fashion bear activity as well as educational extension ideas. By following the link in the post you will also find the pattern downloads for these fashion bears.

Along the Way added a fun suggestion for creating your own marble run using toliet paper tubes and chocolate eggs. Looks like a lot of artistic & engineering fun!

We also have a fun show and tell of our own. ABC & 123 was recently included in an article listing 50 Best Blogs for Early Childhood Educators. We are honored to be included and think you will find the list to be a helpful resource.

Now, it's your turn again. Before participating in this week's show and tell please take a minute to review a few instructions:

~Post an "Ah Ha Moment," favorite lesson, experiment, learning game, field trip, whatever you're currently working on, and of course your child's fridge worthy artwork, handmade gifts and cards for all the holidays!

~Please add a link back to this blog hop and/or the Show and Tell button to your post.

~Link up to the current week's MckLinky with your direct blog post link.

~Enjoy visiting each other's blogs, getting to know each other, and being inspired.

Groundhog Day Activities

Welcome! New to ABC and 123?
Please check out our FAQ in the left sidebar.

Happy Groundhog Day!

Accoding to the office site for Punxsutawney Groundhog Club:
~Punxsutawney Phil is the only true weather forecasting groundhog.
~His prediction is correct 100% of the time, of course!
~On February 2, Phil comes out of his burrow on Gobbler's Knob to predict the weather for the rest of winter.
~According to legend, if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter weather. If he does not see his shadow, there will be an early spring.
~Punxsutawney held its first Groundhog Day in the 1800s.
~Punxsutawney Phil was named after King Phillip.

It's likely you have all kinds of fun learning activities planned for today.
For a start, you might like to put together a Groundhog's Day eCard with your learners and send it off to a friend.

We'd love to see what you've been up to.  As you finish your plans and have a chance to post them, please link up!

Teaching Tiny Tots submitted a fun variation on the handprint Christmas wreath.

Make an angel decoration using hand & foot prints, such as this one shared by Our Cozy Little Book Corner.

They also have a fun idea for putting together a textured Santa Claus.

Don't forget about the great fine motor practice opportunity while making the traditional favorite paper chains - also good for counting, estimating, and measuring practice.

Or you can link up to a post you've already done about on a special family outing, vacation, or activity. Just make sure you add to that post, that it's been added to ABC & 123's Picnic Table Talk and link back to this post. That way readers can find their way back to the Mck Linky.

We're going to add a new feature on alternating Saturdays called Show & Tell Saturday. We'll provide the Mck Linky and you can hop on and link to any post on your blog that you want to share with the community. Now you can share your favorite activities right away and not have to wait until your submission fits in with our posting schedule.

Now that our the summer is wrapping up, we'll be returning to our normal posting schedule. It'll be more activity and lesson driven but we'll continue to host giveaways with companies we think our readers would be especially interested in or benefit from knowing about.
