Super Bowl Units, Lessons, and Crafts

Today's post is lacking in eye candy, but it is FULL of fabulous teaching resources. Hopefully you will take the time to click around and see all the creative lessons teachers have put together using the Super Bowl as their theme!

Primary Perspective simple and adorable events for channeling Super Bowl fever into quality learning. All of her great activities are available in Scribd. She has included a fraction and symmetry math lesson, behavior management suggestion, a social studies connection, and more. Fantastic! (early elementary)

The NY Times learning blog has a great suggestion for working with older students on descriptive writing using the sporting event as a springboard. (upper elementary/middle school)

Amy from Sweet Expectations does a football spelling activity with her students - a partner spelling game. Each pair has a small football field, two balls. Each time they spell a word correctly they gain ten yards. First person to score a touchdown wins! (elementary)

Teaching Heart has a great collection of football themed suggestions. I love the "Souper Bowl" can collection idea. This is a fantastic resource for crafts, food, game, and learning activityes.

  3. Thank you for the shout out! I hope you enjoy it. I was just thinking today...I shouldn't have put the Super Bowl Number on that unit since it changes every year. lol. Oh well, I guess people can change that part. :)
